To design UI/UX of Estel App which makes it easy for travellers to mainly search & book hotels but also provide a seamless way of payment methods.
The Objective
The design of this application should:
● Allow faster & easier navigation for searching and booking a hotel room.
● Propose a luxurious & modern look.
● Pay seamlessly using different payments methods.
● Develop a working prototype to show the feel & flow of the app.
My contribution
UX Research
UI/UX Design
Research
As to understand the users, I conducted user interviews and generated some pain points. This survey helped in determining issues users had with existing booking applications. I found that most apps provide the same flow of hotel bookings and users were unable to search & book the hotels in a quick way. I read reports about stress factors and how people were dealing with them, and conducted a competitor analysis to have a better idea of what the market looked like. This showed gaps in the market, as they were not often tailored to users, and none addressed clarity on searching & booking — which was what most users needed.
Information Architecture
An overview of how the app would be structured, highlighting key features and steps in the user’s journey.
UI/UX Design
I set up the structure, layout and information necessary to be displayed per screen. Then, I was able to test these with people to see if the info & flows were clear and concise enough.
Moodboarding
Next, I put together a moodboard to create a visual look & feel. Inspiration was selected based on a clean & luxurious feeling.
Designing The Brand Identity
Before moving to the High-Fidelity designs, I worked on the brand identity, creating a graphic style to be followed across the brand’s applications.
Building on the foundations
Based on the visual direction from the brand identity and the layout and structuring from the wireframes, the final step was to implement the designs.
User Feedback
Looks Clean & Luxurious
After testing the app prototype with the client & other users. The main feedback was the clean UI & the feeling of luxury while using it.
Easy to Use
Users also loved how easily they could search & book hotels without too much hassle.
